Footage out of Brazil captures the moment a bullet passes within inches of a police officer while he is conducting an anti crime operation in one of Rio de Janeiro's favelas.

Violent crime rates in Rio de Janeiro and across much of Brazil remain ridiculously high. Shootouts with police are a daily occurrence, and many of the slums are governed by criminal gangs that make their money producing or trafficking drugs.
