Communist Insurgents Ambush Philippines Military Vehicle

A video from an unknown date shows an insurgent ambush carried out and filmed by the NPA communist guerrillas against a Philippines military vehicle.

The ambush is initiated by a remote detonated improvised explosive device (IED) that was hidden on the side of the road. The triggerman poorly timed the explosion, which appears to not have any significant effect on the vehicle or its occupants.

As the targeted vehicle crew attempts to speed out of the kill zone, the insurgents open up with volleys of automatic gunfire.

The communist New People's Army (NPA) has been waging an insurgency against the Philippines' government for 50 years. The insurgent group is active in 73 of the Philippines' 81 provinces. It has been designated a foreign terror organization by both the US and EU.
