Convenience store parking lot security cameras reportedly captured the moment south side Chicago's Calumet City Police were carjacked by a suspect while coincidentally investigating a carjacking.

The perpetrator can be seen sprinting from the front of the store and into a parked police vehicle. As a diversionary tactic, he throws the running vehicle in reverse and quickly exits the car. The pursuing police officer decides they must first stop the rolling squad car before it causes serious damage or injury.

Meanwhile, the perp tries entering another parked squad, which must have been locked. After jiggling the handle he runs to a third police vehicle and attempts to make his escape with more police in pursuit.
