Video released by the Riverside Police Department captures a car-jacker's attempt at leading police on a high-speed chase in an Amazon box truck.

On July 25th, 2022, Officers from the Riverside Police Department were dispatched to a home invasion in the 2900 block of Atlanta Avenue in Riverside. While en-route to the location of the home invasion, the officers learned that the suspect, 32-year-old Quintin Jarnall Larks, had just conducted a car-jacking on an Amazon box truck.

After making contact with the Amazon driver, the officers were able to utilize the GPS inside of the vehicle to begin tracking it where they eventually able to attempt a stop on the stolen vehicle. The Larks then led the officers on a pursuit where he crossed the median into oncoming traffic several times, and hit a number of other civilian vehicles that were traveling along the same route.

At the conclusion of the chase, Larks was arrested and taken to a local hospital for medical clearance. He was then later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for attempted murder, home invasion robbery, carjacking, assault with a deadly weapon, reckless evading of police, and suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs causing injury. No officers or civilians were seriously injured during the pursuit. Larks is being held on 1 million dollars bail.
