Recent footage coming from the battlefields of Ukraine shows our first use case of a German MG3 being utilized to combat an advancing Russian force.

As part of Germany's relief package to Ukraine, over 100 machine guns, 100,000 hand grenades, 2,000 mines, some 5,300 explosive charges, and more than 16 million rounds of ammunition of various calibers were sent to Ukrainian allied forces fighting on the frontline. As a former machine gunner, I always have a soft spot for MG footage like this...

For those unfamiliar with the MG3, it is a German produced machine gun chambered in 7.62x51mm ammunition. In an essence, the MG3 is very similar to the United States 240B/240L in both weight, effective range, caliber, etc.
