Ethnic Armenians located in various parts of the Nagorno-Karabakh region are burning their homes as they are forced from the areas that are being handed over to Azerbaijan as part of the Russian-brokered peace deal.

The Armenians are ceding Kalbajar, Aghdam, and Lachin district to the Azeris. The land itself is internationally recognized as Azeri territory, however, it has been occupied and governed by ethnic Armenians since the last major war between the rival nations in the 1990s.

Azerbaijan touted a clear victory in the recent weeks of heavy fighting, mostly due to their military's technological advantage. Armed attack drones and loiter munitions inflicted devastating casualties against the Armenias who had no defense against such attacks. Armenia has reported 2,317 of their service members were killed in the fighting. Azerbaijan has not released any casualty figures, although they're guaranteed to be significantly less.
