2 Russian Spetsnaz Killed In Fast Roping Accident

Shocking video captures the moment two Russian Special Response Unit (SOBR) operators were killed during a fast roping training incident near Murmansk.

The two special forces national guardsmen were identified as Vitaly Likhanov, 41, and Sergey Fundament, 47. The incident is still being investigated as what factors led to the deadly outcome.

Some reports indicate the the ropes were too short. Others have suggested that the ropes were damaged. Poor weather conditions also likely played a role. The footage shows one operator falling at free-fall speed, while the second man appears to fall slower, possibly still sliding down the rope.
