Local reports out of Syria are claiming that a Russian service member was killed, and three more were wounded when either a landmine or improvised explosive device detonated under their vehicle while on patrol near the city of al Asadiya in Haseke province.

The embedded video is interesting as it appears to show the Russian troops relying on local medical staff and facilities to treat the wounded, rather than evacuating the injured troops to a Russian field hospital, if there is such a thing.

It is unclear at this time who is responsible for the attack. Al Hasakah province is occupied by a number of armed groups to include the US-backed SDF, Kurdish YPG and PKK affiliates, Turkish-backed Arab rebel groups, and ISIS sleeper cells.
