An Army veteran is suing a VA hospital in Connecticut after it was discovered that they had left a scalpel inside his body from a previous surgery.
Veteran Glenford Turner, of Bridgeport, underwent surgery at the West Haven VA hospital back in 2013. Since the surgery, he had been suffering from dizziness and severe abdominal pain. After four years, he finally received X-rays that showed a scalpel lodged in his body.
Turner is now suing the hospital for malpractice, and for what his lawyer described as “an incomprehensible level of incompetence.”
