Three US troops were killed and another three were wounded by an improvised explosive device on Tuesday near Ghazni City, Afghanistan.
In addition to the US service member casualties, one American contractor was reportedly wounded as well. Earlier this year, Ghazni City was overran by the Taliban and US combat troops and aircraft were called in to retake the city.
The three deaths bring the number of US KIAs in Afghanistan to 13 this year and the number of wounded to 110.
Just days ago, Army Ranger SGT Leandro Jasso, 25, was killed in Nimruz by “unintentional” friendly fire by an Afghan soldier during a gun battle against al Qaeda forces.
The following footage shows US troops operating in Afghanistan earlier this year.
