The raids are being described as a large-scale clearance operation and were conducted by an unidentified US SOF unit and a partner force from the Kurdish Hezen Anti Terror (HAT) special forces group.

In addition to the arrests, the raids nabbed several weapons, a stockpile of ammunition, and additional, actionable intelligence. SOJTF-OIR stated that bilateral raids like these are being carried out three to four times a week.

“Our partners continue to conduct intelligence-driven operations, removing ISIS fighters from the region and denying them safe haven,” said U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Eric T. Hill, SOJT-OIR commander.
