With the threat of groups like Al Shabaab continuing to increase, the role of the U.S. military is starting change. While actively engaging these groups is in some cases still the most effective way to defeat them, in others, training the indigenous military to win is even better.
In some of these countries, the military training is substandard. When possible, the best option available is to drop in a small group of U.S. service members, and allow them to teach, coach, and mentor the native forces.
The video below, showcases a group of U.S. Marine Combat Engineers, and direct action instructors teaching the Ugandan Military how to conduct proper Combat Engineer operations.
