A purported Syrian Arab Army (SAA) T-90 main-battle-tank utilizes its thermal imagery camera to observe and engage rebel forces. Systematically blasting the fleeing rebels in quick succession.
Allegedly taking place on the outskirts of the city of Dara’a in southwest Syria during last summers operations against the Free Syrian Army (FSA), an SAA T-90 tank advances against a rebel defensive line. Cellphone video taken by one of the crew members illustrates its thermal imagery targeting system as it scans the battlefield and searches for targets. The crew locates multiple exposed FSA infantry and engages them with the 125mm auto-loaded main gun.
The Russians have supplied the SAA with a plethora of military hardware during the civil war including at least a battalion worth of T-90’s beginning in late 2017. The Russian military and defense industry have used the Syrian conflict as a proving ground to test and refine equipment under the prolonged combat conditions.
