Landing on the shores of the East African nation of Djibouti, tankers of Battalion Landing Team (BLT) 1/4 with the 11th MEU seamlessly move their 70-ton Abrams tanks from ship-to-shore utilizing the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC). Upon completing the amphibious landings, the tankers begin a series of live-fire gunnery ranges with the powerful 120mm main gun and secondary weapon systems. The training also included various aspects of crucial tank maintenance including complete engine and transmission removal in field conditions.
