Syrian Army T-72’s battle it out in the streets of Aleppo with Syrian Rebels.
These guys thought they were going to bump across a danger area to outmaneuver the behemoth, but this Tank Commander is to on point for that. As the second rebel begins to make his movement across the alleyway the TC locks his main gun onto their destination and takes a killer shot. Good Tank Crewmanship at it’s finest.
In case you were wondering, the T-72 in the video is outfitted with Kontakt-1 explosive reactive armor blocks to increase its protection from RPG’s. This was done to update them to the AV standard, and in response to after actions from The Battle of Darayya. Fun fact, both the record for most destroyed T-72s and highest flying tank turret were recorded inside of Syria during that particular conflict.
Pictured below are two of the older model T-72 tanks before they received the ERA Upgrades, and one after the ERA was installed. These tanks are as deadly today as they were when they were first introduced to the battlefield.
