Hezbollah and Syrian Army troops surround the rebel-held town in the Wadi Barada valley in Damascus and begin to “soften” it up with rockets, mortars, tanks, and heavy machine gun fire. Some rebels can be seen retreating, while others scramble for cover with the intent of holding the town. News reports indicate that 300 rebels have surrendered.
