Here’s an inside look at the Navy’s Special Warfare Combatant Craft Crewman (SWCC) and what capabilities they bring to the special operations community.


Although they work closely with SEALs and are often mistaken for SEALs in videos and photographs, SWCC is actually a separate force, specializing in amphibious infiltrations and exfiltrations deep behind enemy lines.

To become a Special Warfare Combatant Craft Crewman, recruits have to undergo a rigorous training and selection program with a ~60 percent attrition rate to weed out all but the best.
