An unconfirmed video reportedly out of southern Yemen shows a direct fire engagement quickly turn ugly for the side recording the footage.
A group of unidentified fighters are firing down a street. Like most engagements from the region, the combatants just shoot in a general direction without any kind of plan, while holding down a static position until their ammo depletes.
However, their foe has a plan and flanks the situationally unaware group of militants. As the visible fighter ducks behind cover to reload his weapon, he starts being shot at from behind.
Several rounds impact the wall in front of him, but it’s not apparent whether the bullets first pierced his body before making impact. The cameraman starts shrieking as the militants scramble out of the kill zone.
