U.S. Army Stryker soldiers of B Company, 4-23 Infantry conduct a disruption operation deep into enemy territory in Helmand province during the nearly yearlong Operation Moshtarak.

Operation Moshtarak was quite possibly the largest ISAF offensive in Afghanistan since the fall of the Taliban. It consisted of 15,000 American, Afghan, Canadian, Estonian, Danish and British troops. The operation was intended to dislodge Taliban rule from the central Helmand town of Marjah. 45 Americans and 13 Brits died in the fighting.
