A Shia Houthi rebel video out of Yemen shows the detonation of a massive IED on a Saudi military vehicle, followed by Saudi troops returning to investigate the IED crater. Seconds before the next bomb goes off, Saudi troops can be seen pulling on detonation cord.
Often times, IED craters are investigated in an attempt to gather clues as to how the device was constructed and with what materials. Those clues can be pieced together to distinguish if the device was created by a single bomb maker or multiple, where they are getting their materials, and who taught them the process. With as much money as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia throws at military hardware, you’d think they’d have quite a few remote control bomb diffuse robots on hand.
