A sailor from the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt has died of complications associated with the COVID-19 coronavirus, according to the Navy.
The sailor had recently made the news after being found unresponsive and had been receiving treatment in an intensive care unit in Guam. The service member died four days after being admitted to the hospital.
The Navy Times reports that as of Sunday, 92 percent of the carrier’s 4,800 crew had been tested for the coronavirus, and 585 were confirmed positive for the virus. The sailor is now the second service member to have died as a result of contracting the virus.
