A new moto video mashup compares the gear and capabilities of US spec ops and various Russian special forces teams.
Over the past couple years, the US has projected and maintained some sort of special operations unit in almost every nation along Russia’s western border.
The elite troops are training, advising, and assisting host nation forces, while also standing by to act or react should such a need arise.
Since September 11, 2001, US Spec Ops have expanded ridiculously in funding and manpower, but so has their scope of operations.
Currently, there are roughly 8,000 special operations troops deployed across 80 countries. That means about 70% of the world’s nation states have some sort of USSOF troops operating within their borders.
There are an estimated 70,000 United States special operations troops currently serving in (and outside of) various military branches and government organizations.
