A five minute color video released by Hezbollah shows dozens of Russian laser guided artillery impacts as well as Tu-22M3 long-range bomber strikes against Islamic State targets in the vicinity of Abu Kamal, Syria.
A majority of the strikes appear to be laser guided artillery and one could assume that the drone filming the destruction is also the aerial asset lazing the IS targets. Another observation to make from Russian “precision” strike videos is that they are not always as precise as Western military technology.
The Syrian Army’s offensive for Abu Kamal began in late October 2017 Abu Kamal with the intention to capture the last ISIS urban stronghold in Syria. Abu Kamal sits right on the border of Iraq and Iraq Security Forces applied military pressure from the West. The SAA and allied forces declared victory on 21 November 2017.
