Chaotic combat footage coming out of one of the last Islamic State positions in Baghouz shows Islamic State women engaging in direct combat.

Yesterday, footage from the inside of one of the Islamic State’s last positions on the Euphrates River was leaked to the internet. The footage, which comes out of Baghouz Fawqani in the Deir ez-Zour region of Syria, shows a chaotic tent city full of scrambling Islamic State fighters. It was allegedly recorded yesterday on March 14, 2019.

In the footage, it is clearly seen that even the women of the Islamic State have donned full battle dress and are taking up arms to engage in direct combat with their opposition. The situation must be getting very dire for the remnants of the Islamic State if even their wives are now being forced to engage the Syrian Defense Force and Coalition troops in direct combat.

According to reports from the Syrian Defense Force, Islamic State fighters both foreign and domestic have been surrendering their positions in the area. According to the International Volunteers Report, more than 1,500 of the 8,000 Islamic State fighters that have been captured are from foreign nations outside of Syria and Iraq. The SDF is also calling on support from those nations the foreign fighters come from to help them deal with the problem of these foreign fighters.
