Infantry Troops Take The “Polar Bear Plunge” In Frozen Latvian Lake

US light infantry soldiers take the “Polar Bear Plunge” into a frozen lake in Latvia as part of a bilateral winter training course. Latvian instructors build the troops’ survival skills as they give the soldiers a personal encounter with extremely cold water that will take your breath away. The soldiers must use their newly learned skills to recover themselves from a simulated ice break situation. What the video doesn’t show is the following two hours where naked infantrymen cuddle together for warmth… also a survival technique. But remember: What happens in the field, stays in the field.
