Sky News reporters capture gnarly footage from the front line fighting in Mosul, showing Iraqi Federal Police repeatedly being attacked by three ISIS suicide vehicle borne improvised explosive (SVBIED) devices as they continue to push into hotly contested enemy territory.
The third blast is so massive and close, you can see it blow the hair back of the soldiers standing behind cover. Taking back Mosul hasn’t been easy, and the insurgents on the west side of the river are giving up a much stiffer fight than was expected. Iraqi troops have to worry about every street and house being booby trapped, while facing an enemy that has no qualms about blowing themselves up, all while their movements are being observed by ISIS observation drones.
