Here’s an awesome inside look at how New Zealand creates there elite SAS soldiers.
The New Zealand Harold covers down on a selection class that will determine who is fit to serve in the top special operations units of the Special Air Service. In a four-year span, 243 candidates attempted to finish the class, but only 31 completed it.
The NZSAS has deployed around the globe for various operations and occasionally bolster their own police force on the home front. They played a lengthy, but limited role in Afghanistan from 2001-2012, in which a few of the troopers earned top valor awards. At least two members of the NZSAS were killed in the fighting in Afghanistan.
