When it comes to the conflict in Afghanistan, the New Zealand Defense Force is highly under rated. They didn’t have one of the largest forces on the ground, and for the most part their actions went unnoticed. Keeping that in mind, it is important to note that the NZDF saw some of the roughest fighting their military has ever seen, while they were in Afghanistan.
The video below was recorded in Baghak, Afghanistan. The deadly firefight killed two NZDF soldiers, Lance Corporals Rory Malone and Pralli Durrer. An official NZDF spokesperson stated that this was the roughest fighting their military had seen since Vietnam.
So here’s a shout out to the New Zealanders who took part in the Battle of Baghak. Well fought, and thank you for everything you’ve done for your country, and the world.
