Moving slowly while getting through a danger area that is currently under fire is certainly a pretty obvious way to die. A terrorist fighter from Jund al-Aqsa finds out this lesson the hard way when he fruitlessly spends his own life by running slowly.
This may have been a one in a million shot, but you can’t help but think it’s the terrorist’s own fault. One, he is a terrorist operating in a war zone. Their inshallah attitude about war does not help them win, it only causes them to die for absolutely no reason thinking that their God will protect them. Two, he decided to not run fast enough while crossing a road that was basically funneling rounds directly towards his position.
In September 2016, the US State Department labeled Jund al Aqsa as a Foreign Terrorist Organization and added it to the US government’s list of Specially Designated Global Terrorist groups, according to the Long War Journal. The insurgent group was nothing more than an al Qaeda subsidiary, swearing allegiance to al Qaeda, and being led by longtime al Qaeda members.
In February 2017, June al Aqsa split, with some members joining al Qaeda’s Tahrir ash Sham and the other portion changed their name to Liwa al-Aqsa. Tahrir ash Sham accused the new group of being an began an ISIS affiliate, and they began offensive operations against Liwa al-Aqsa in Idlib. Shortly thereafter, a couple thousand Liwa al-Aqsa fighters fled Idlib and joined ISIS in Raqqa.
