Iraqi Forces are on their final push to clear out Islamic State militants in Mosul, yet stiff fighting remains. The city had been a safe zone for ISIS, their de facto capital since 2014, but now, after a bloody seven month house-to-house, street-by-street battle, the insurgents are on the verge of absolute destruction in the city.
Many of the ISIS fighters have attempted to retreat into the desert wasteland to the west of town, and the militants that have stayed seem to rely on sniper fire and suicide car bombs to slow their inevitable defeat. The following video shows scenes from the operation, as well as the discovery of a wide array of locally produced weapons and explosives.
