Another ill-conceived and moronic Daesh attack on an Iraqi PMU unit ends quickly and violently with several destroyed vehicles and multiple dead fighters left rotting in the desert.
An Iraqi PMU (Popular Mobilization Units) in open desert, entrenched along a hastily dug berm is attacked in broad daylight by ISIS. Several improvised armored vehicles appear loaded with Daesh fighters and lumber recklessly towards the dug in PMU unit.
The PMU opens fire with small arms and RPG’s – tracers and rounds of all sizes skip off the steal-laden pick-ups, kicking up torrents of dust. Regrettably, the video misses how the vehicles are finally immobilized and their occupants end up in a meager shallow trench line.
The PMU forms a skirmishers line and advances forward while tossing hand grenades and spraying the trench. After their immediate vicinity is cleared, the PMU pick off the last few Daesh fighters making a desperate run for it – not getting far in the final turkey shoot.
This is one of those situations where you’re left scratching your head. What exactly were these Daesh fighters expected to accomplish? If their goal was a suicidal blaze of glory, there are certainly better and more constructive ways they could have accomplished that.
However, these fighters try to make a run for it after their vehicles are disabled and they end up in the trench. They either had a change of heart, or it was an idiotic and deadly miscalculation resulting in the loss of lives and equipment against a far larger force.
Suicidal ideation or gross incompetence, these Daesh rats manage to get dead and only accomplish a hilarious video.
