Marines Patrolling in Kajaki Take Fire from Multiple Directions

Marines on a movement to contact patrol take fire from an elusive Taliban element in Kajaki Helmand province, continually ambushing them from multiple directions. The Marines quickly react and brush off the attacks despite sparse cover in the wide-open terrain.

According to the video release, “U.S. Marines with Echo Battery, 1st Battalion, 12th Marines, Regimental Combat Team 8, patrol the perimeter of Operation Post “Shrine” in Kajaki, Afghanistan on May 24, 2011. While on patrol the Marines took contact from local Taliban Militia hiding in the surrounding area.”
