U.S. Marines halt and then destroy a Suicide Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device (SVBIED) on a bridge somewhere in Iraq. The mobile bomb is prematurely detonated after the Marines turn the stalled vehicle into a perfect practice target.
U.S. Marines operating somewhere in Iraq -likely during the good old days of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) given the gear and weapons- manage to halt an insurgent SVBIED on a bridge as it approaches their Combat Outpost (COP). The explosive laden Chevy Suburban sits idle in front of the Marine’s fighting positions facing the river, giving them clear fields of fire towards the bridge and opposing bank. They fire burst after burst from a belt-fed weapon into the truck until it eventually erupts into a small fiery explosion. Several secondary blasts then detonate in the wreckage until the main charge is finally triggered. A massive fireball and explosion then erupt sending a mushroom cloud into the air.
