“March Or Die” (MOD) paratroopers from 1-503rd of the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team find themselves running a gauntlet of enemy fire wile conducting a company sized movement through a hotly contested strip of road in Paktika province, Afghanistan, on their 2007-08 deployment.
Taliban ambush points are spread out over several kilometers, and they fire from elevated positions on both sides of the road, using RPGs and small arms. The attack was initiated with an IED that takes out an MRAP, which can be seen burning about half way through the video. This video was cut down from an original length of ~45 minutes. Through the entire video, various exchanges of fire are taking place along the route, and not until the end of the video, and after the truck is out of the kill zone, does the AH-64A Apache close air support come on station.
