More intense urban combat footage continues to come out of the Philippines months after the successful operation to dislodge Islamic State sponsored militants from the city of Marawi on the island of Mindanao.
The battle began in May 2017 and lasted five months before the terror leaders were killed and the Philippines military declared victory. The fighting resulted in the death of 920 fighters, 165 government soldiers, and displaced 300,000 civilians from their homes. The siege became the longest urban battle in the modern history of the Philippines.
