The Virginia National Guard first lieutenant that took an armored personnel vehicle on a 65-mile police chase in 2018 was found not guilty by reason of insanity.

1LT Joshua Phillip Yabut, 30, was deemed delusional by mental health experts and therefore found not guilty by reason of insanity, according to Army Times.

1LT Yabut was the Commander of Headquarters Company, 276th Engineer Battalion at the time of the incident. He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, felony eluding, and a felony count of unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Yabut live-streamed the event as it occurred while sending out ridiculous tweets. He expertly operated the APC at top speeds through the crowded streets of downtown Richmond before he was arrested.

Yabut has served more than 11 years in the military and had previously deployed to Afghanistan from 2008 to 2009 with the Illinois National Guard.
