One way to extract your operators from the ground is to land the helicopter close to them at a predetermined LZ, and then wait for them to hop on. This guy takes it to a different level entirely, and just for fun decides to balance his little bird on a jersey barrier. I wonder if these operators were a little angry that they had to climb the barrier to get in.
I bet the conversation between the pilot and co-pilot went something like this before the landing.
Pilot: “I’ll bet you lunch I can land on that jersey barrier.”
Co-Pilot: “Seriously Carl?”
Pilot: “Yup. Hold onto your butt.”
Interesting take on an extract I suppose. No real reason for this method comes to mind, no matter how many times I watch this. The only thing that I can really think of is maybe the possibility of mines in the area. With that thought though, why in the world are the operators in that area?
Judging by the look on this guy’s face. I think it’s pretty obvious that he just wanted to show off his skills a little bit. Can’t really blame him though, when you’re good, you’re good, and sometimes you just have to prove it.
