The Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG) also known as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), close in on the final territorial pocket of ISIS in eastern Syria. Hammering the remaining jihadist positions both day and night with heavy weapons.
A mashup of two recent YPG press office videos details the final push on the last pocket of ISIS in Baghouz, Syria. The Kurdish forces have cornered the militants into their final territorial holding’s and have been cautiously advancing for several weeks. Supported by US and coalition airstrikes, they continually pound the ISIS positions both day and night with heavy weapons in an effort to weaken resistance or force the surrender of any lesser committed militants. Though this operation should be completed in the next few days or even weeks, ISIS is far from defeated in the region and has already begun to ramp up insurgent activities across Syria and Iraq.
