Japan has just entered the stealth game with their X-2 stealth fighter jet, and after the maiden flight, scheduled for later this month, Japan will become the fourth nation to have successfully produced a stealth fighter.
The nation is looking to replace their aging fleet of F-2 fighters and has gotten onboard with the F-35 program. The current X-2 is merely a demonstration aircraft, but will be the basis for the future of the nation’s stealth program.
Russia first flew their stealth aircraft in 2010 and China in 2011. The. U.S. has been operating stealth aircraft since the 1980’s.
