In the northern Iraqi village of Ayn al-Agha, west of Tal Afar, an ISIS vehicle charge doesn’t go as planned. Two armored Islamic State trucks speed toward a pro Iraqi militia fighting position with the intent to detonate the truck bombs within the Iraqi’s perimeter. The defenders fire their weapons at a cyclic rate, but the vehicles continue their approach. However, the trucks crash in a defensive ditch and become immobilized.
Fortunately for the defending troops, the trucks were rigged with explosives but didn’t detonate, perhaps they were not wired correctly and failed. Two ISIS fighters can be seen attempting to flee on foot, but are cut down by automatic small arms fire.
The militia group shown in the video, al-Hashd al-Shaabi, claimed to have killed an Islamic State Emir, known as Abu Dujana al-Tunsi. However it is not clear at this time if the Emir was one of the ISIS members killed in the following video.
