Combat footage coming straight from the streets of Marawi, Philippines, shows members of the Filipino National Army conducting a clearing operation against members of The Maute, an ISIS backed sub-faction that is becoming powerful in the region.
Marawi City is the largest city on the island of Mindanao, and is the capital for the province Lanao del Sur. Since Government combat operations in the city have started, there have been 129 people killed, with 89 of those individuals being fighters from the ISIS backed terror group, The Maute. A military spokesman, Restituto Padilla, said that around 960 civilians have been rescued from the city so far, and an estimated 1,000 residents remain trapped where the fighting is continuing to escalate by the day.
