The Islamist group responsible for targeting civilians and battling against government forces in the city of Marawi in the Philippines has released footage showing them attacking armored vehicles and capturing weapons from military forces.

It has been reported by the Filipino government that at least eight foreign jihadists have been killed in the siege on Marawi, leading the government to rule out the local “Maute” insurgent group as the perpetrators responsible for the attacks, and pinning the uprising squarely on the Islamic State.
