Recent footage from Aleppo shows ongoing fighting between pro-Assad forces and the Islamic State. At ~20 seconds into the video, regime forces fire an anti tank guided missile (ATGM) at a running ISIS fighter. The fly-by-wire warhead detonates after making a direct impact on the militant’s body. Pieces of him are launched in multiple directions.
The introduction and proliferation of guided missile systems in the region makes for a much more dangerous battlefield for our deployed troops. As you can see, some of these missile operators are very good and could rack up a number of catastrophic vehicles kills in a short amount of time on friendly vehicles.
