Iran’s “New” 4th Gen Fighter Jet Is Just A Sad Copy Of An Obsolete 1959 F-5

Iran just unveiled its “new” 4th Generation Kowsar fighter jet that they claim was developed organically, and the rest of the world is busting a gut laughing.

It takes no stretch of the imagination to see that the Kowsar is a cookie cutter copy of the archaic Northrop F-5 Tiger, which was developed in 1959 and has long been obsolete as an air-to-air superiority fighter.

“We should make ourselves ready to fight against the military powers who want to take over our territory and our resources,” said Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. He went on to brag, “Why does the US not attack us? Because it is aware of our power…”

To give the Iranians some credit, two variants of the F-5 are actually still in service with the US Military, believe it or not. The irony is that they are being used by the Navy and Marine Corps as an OPFOR adversary trainer… Meaning: We train daily to shoot these things down.
