A new Air Force video called “Hog Good Effects” shows the logistical side of keeping the A-10 Warthog war-ready in Afghanistan.
This interesting production highlights the 75th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron who are currently deployed to Kandahar Airfield (KAF), Afghanistan in support of combat operations.
The tight relationship between ground combat troops and close air support pilots has long been identified, and this video shows that a similar relationship is essential between pilots and the maintenance crew.
The A-10 Warthog in truth is an outdated aircraft and has repeatedly been on the defense spending cutting block. It’s days are numbered. However, many of the battlefields our troops find themselves on are against a primitive enemy using degraded tactics, which allows the close air support aircraft to remain relevant and effective.
