American Troop Killed In Helicopter Crash After Secret Raid In Iraq

One American troop was killed and multiple injured as a result of a helicopter crash last night or early this morning in Iraq after a secret raid. Reports are stating that 10 personnel were aboard and at least three were seriously injured enough to be evacuated for emergency medical treatment.

According to Newsweek, citing unnamed officials, the MH-60 Black Hawk was flown by the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment “Night Stalkers.” The bird was returning from a special operations raid when it went down.

Army Colonel Sean Ryan, Spokesman for Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR), tweeted that the crash was not a result of enemy fire, while other sources suggested a mechanical failure was to blame.

The identification of the fallen service member is pending the notification of the next of kin.
