Baltimore Police have released body cam footage of an event in April 2018 that resulted in an officer running down and capturing a murder suspect.
The body camera video shows an officer responding to a dispute between a landlord and a tenant. The three civilians argue about who is at fault while the officer listens and tries to uphold the law.
Suddenly, multiple shots ring out very close to the officer’s position. As he turns toward the gun fire, he is actually able to see the murder take place. The suspect kills one man and wounds another before fleeing into an alley.
The cop instinctively draws his weapon and begins pursuit of the suspect. He races up the street to see the suspect dart back out of the alley crossing a main street. He authoritatively commands the suspect to get down and he complies.
He calls in the incident and soon his backup arrives to secure the scene. The murder suspect is placed in the back of a squad as an ambulance and more officers arrive.
Just as the video ends, one of the shooting victims can be seen being loaded into the back of an ambulance. That’s some fine policing by this Baltimore officer.
