A recent tank and infantry GoPro mashup by Syrian rebels from the ongoing battle of Harasta. Al-Rahman Corps militants and jihadist allies have been besieging and attempting to capture the armored vehicle base from the SAA in the Damascus suburb. After nearly two months of fierce fighting, the tide may be turning in favor of the SAA.
The Eastern Ghouta rebel pocket near the Syrian capital of Damascus has seen intense fighting for nearly two months. The battle of Harasta has largely centered around the SAA’s armored vehicle base and was launched by a coalition of jihadist groups – including the al-Rahman Corp, Ahrar al-Sham, and al-Qaeda in Syria Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham. The SAA were purportedly able to withstand much of the militant’s assault and have been besieged ever since. Recent reports suggest that the SAA was finally able to break the siege and has started reclaiming buildings and neighbors surrounding the base.
This recent GoPro propaganda footage is from the al-Rahman Corp – highlighting their mediocre infantry tactics and their total ineptness at driving a tank. Aimlessly rumbling around a neighborhood, this tank driver has serious problems in navigating simple barriers and gets hopelessly caught up in a tree.
