Maybe you are just in a rut. That’s why you sleep in until noon every single day after scrolling through your Facebook news feed early into the morning. It’s all your job’s fault anyways. You start work at 12:30 and your stuck there bored out of your mind until 9pm every night. If it weren’t for your crummy shift, you’d have time to go to the gym every single day, and spend time with your friends and family. Your work-life balance is all out of whack because of that stupid job, and there isn’t anything you can do about it, right? You just need to start looking for a new job next month, and then everything will solve itself.
You’ll get that gym membership next week, and then start working out the following Monday. That’s been the plan since January anyways, you just haven’t had the money to do so yet. There’s no possible way you could give up cigarettes, dip, or your calorie packed vending machine dinner to save a few extra bucks. You need three Monster Energy drinks per day to get through your work shift. If it weren’t for your stupid boss putting you on this crappy shift, surely you would be able to spend more time with your friends and put aside some extra money to start up that business you’ve been planning since 2010. There’s just nothing you can do about it right now.
Here’s an idea. It’s all your fault. You choose to stay awake until 4 in the morning every day scrolling through your Facebook news feed. You choose to spend that time arguing useless politics on the internet with people who you will never meet in the real world. You choose to wake up at noon every single day thirty minutes before you need to be at your place of work. You choose to have a completely unhealthy diet and lifestyle because you’re too lazy to wake up early enough to prep semi-decent meals for yourself throughout the day. You choose to have low energy because your lifestyle determines the way that you ultimately are force to live.
It’s your choice to be a wantrepreneur that talks with no intent of action. It’s your choice to do everything the way that you are currently doing it. If you are a veteran of any branch of service, and you are reading this and seeing that it uncomfortably applies to your current situation, it’s time to get off your ass and do something about it. In your life, you have probably lived in some of the most austere conditions in the world. There is no reason that you can’t alter the course of your life today, and stop making excuses for the things you can’t do. You know there are things you need to change about your routine, so get over yourself and start doing it today. Not tomorrow, not next Monday. Start right now, and start by hitting the power button on the side of your stupid phone. If any of this applies to you, I want you to remember this one quote: “The only easy day was yesterday.”
You can do this.
