The Irish Defense Force Recruiting Command has developed and released a browser based combat simulator in order to target gamers for military service.

In an effort to appeal to the younger generation, members of the Irish Defense Force have developed a web based video game as a recruiting tool. The aim of the system is to attract 18 to 24-year-old males, and get them interested in enlisting into the Defense Force.

The video game, titled A New Dawn, is taken from the helmet cam of soldiers conducting a clearing mission. As you progress through the game, you are given decisions to make as the soldier who’s perspective you are following throughout. The game combines GoPro style video, as well as cinematics of the battlefield scenery, in an attempt to immerse the player in the action of the game.

The game itself is open on the internet, and anyone can play it. You can find the Irish recruiting campaign video game, A New Dawn, at this link.
